Wynn Congratulates Macao for Receiving the Honor of "Culture City of East Asia" in 2025
Macao, September 12, 2024 — Macao has been officially awarded the title of "Culture City of East Asia" in 2025 today. This award win is especially symbolic this year, as it coincides with the "Double Anniversaries" of two significant milestones – the 75th Anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China and the 25th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Macao Special Administrative Region. It also reaffirms Macao's rising status as a global tourism destination. Wynn will take this opportunity to continue promoting Macao's unique blend of Chinese and Western cultures along with its extensive international contacts. Wynn will also seek to help strengthen Macao's role as an "exchange and co-operation base with Chinese culture as the mainstream and the coexistence of different cultures", while also promoting cultural and tourism exchanges and boosting co-operation between China and other overseas countries.
Ms. Linda Chen, President, Vice Chairman and Executive Director of Wynn Macau, Limited said: "Wynn would like to extend its sincere congratulations to the Macao SAR Government on its successful bid for Macao to become the "Culture City of East Asia" in 2025. This new designation heightens Macao's status as a multicultural destination even further and will serve to strengthen the exchange of culture and the arts on a global level. Wynn will continue to support and work closely with the Macao SAR Government to host more cultural and tourism events with Macao characteristics, help expand the international tourism market, broaden visitor source markets from around the world, and showcase the city's diversity and rich cultural heritage to the world."
"Culture City of East Asia" is the first international cultural city naming event in Asia jointly launched by the leaders of China, Japan, and South Korea. This joint initiative is a showcase for the profound historical and cultural heritage between China, Japan, and South Korea. Through cultural, artistic, and tourism exchanges and collaboration, the initiative seeks to enhance the international competitiveness of cultural resources in the region.
