Wynn hosts "Spirit of the Two Sessions Sharing Session for the Macao Youth Industrial and Commercial Sectors"

Macao, April 5, 2024 — Wynn hosted a "Spirit of the Two Sessions Sharing Session for the Macao Youth Industrial and Commercial Sectors" to give Macao's young business community and Wynn team members an in-depth understanding of China's national policy trends including integrating young talents into the future development of the nation, creating "new quality productive forces" and more on April 3 at Wynn Palace. Wynn was honored to invite Mr. Lao Ngai Leong, Macao Deputy of the NPC and Head of the Macao Delegation; Mr. Ma Chi Ngai, Member of the CPPCC National Committee; Mr. Ho King Lun, Deputy of the NPC; and Mr. Charles M. Choy, Member of the CPPCC National Committee as keynote speakers for the session to share the spirit and overall status of the Two Sessions with Macao youths, representatives of the local business community, and Wynn team members. Mr. Zhao Su, Assistant to the Economic Affairs Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Macao SAR was also invited to attend. This sharing session was organized by Wynn with the support of the Macao Chamber of Commerce; The Industry and Commerce Association of Macau; Macau Youth Entrepreneur Association; The Youth Elites Association Macau; General Association of Macau Guangzhou Associations; General Association of Macau Guangzhou Youth Associations; Macao-Guangzhou Fellowship Association; Macao Nanjing Friendship Association and the Macau Yangzhou Friendship Association.

At the sharing session, four keynote speakers informed Wynn team members about the status of this year's Two Sessions and key national development policies. As Head of the Macao Delegation, Mr. Lao Ngai Leong first presented an overview of the conference and shared information regarding the government work report as well as key tasks involved. He also stated that representatives submitted a total of 96 proposals on issues such as national high-quality productivity, the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the construction of the Guangdong-Macao In-depth Cooperation Zone in Zhuhai. The opinions and suggestions proposed by the representatives also received very prompt feedback from national ministries and commissions, fully reflecting the Central Government's concern for Macao. He hopes that all sectors of society will unite to implement the spirit of the Two Sessions and further advance Macao's integration into the overall development of the nation.

Mr. Ma Chi Ngai said that the CPPCC work report was very solid and put forward ways for Hong Kong and Macao members to improve their duties. The work report also conveys how CPPCC members can excel in economic development and promote the livelihoods of people. He hopes that members from Hong Kong and Macao will use the information provided in the work report to enhance and attract youths from Hong Kong and Macao to better integrate into the overall development of the nation. He also highlighted President Xi Jinping's important discussion with political advisors from the Revolutionary Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang (RCCK), the sector of science and technology and the sector of environment and resources. It was emphasized that in this new era, the nation needs to unite as one and move forward courageously, taking the appropriate practical measures to contribute to Chinese modernization and jointly build an exciting new future.

Mr. Ho King Lun provided an overview of the NPC meeting and introduced the latest term of "new quality productive forces" to everyone at the sharing session. All individuals in the fields of science and technology have been called on to strengthen basic research and applied basic research, strive to achieve breakthroughs in core technologies in key fields and create new drivers for developing new quality productive forces to boost momentum for development and the growth of high-quality productivity. Meanwhile, Macao must not only focus on the tourism and leisure industry, but also broaden its developments across four new industries to ensure a more sustainable future. He hopes that all sectors of the community will work together to seize the opportunity of the "Double Celebrations" and to take better advantage of Macao's strengths to meet the demands of the nation.

Mr. Charles M. Choy said Macao members of the CPPCC National Committee will assist China with opening up to the outside world by providing proposals for national development and Macao's prosperity and stability in line with the responsibilities of CPPCC members. During the Two Sessions, the Central Government emphasized Macao's role as a "super connector" and its unique international advantages in supporting the country's opening-up on a higher level. Macao is encouraged to provide new proposals and requirements for China's opening-up policy, to make solid achievements, and share the story of Macao, China with the world.

Wynn senior management members also actively participated in the Two Sessions sharing session. Management guided team members from various departments in the organization and attendance of the session, so that the Wynn team can fully understand the latest developments of the nation. Simultaneous translation was also provided in English to convey the spirit of the Two Sessions to non-Chinese speakers. During the interactive session, participants also seized the opportunity to discuss the spirit of the Two Sessions, the nation's policy directions, and ask keynote speakers about topics that concern them most. A total of 400 Wynn team members from various departments and nearly 100 community representatives attended the sharing session. Live streaming of the event was also broadcast throughout the Wynn Macau and Wynn Palace employee dining rooms and replayed in the back-of-house areas to convey the spirit of the Two Sessions to nearly 12,000 team members, further deepening and promoting the core values of patriotism for China and Macao.

Every year, Wynn organizes sharing sessions to discuss the spirit of the Two Sessions and convey China's development strategies with team members. The aim of each sharing session is to give team members an in-depth understanding of the national policy direction. These sessions have consistently received positive responses from a variety of departments at Wynn, including senior management, administrative teams and frontline team members. These positive responses reflect Wynn's patriotic dedication to the nation and Macao, the company's care for the community and demonstrates how Wynn is moving forward with its mission as an international company that is deeply rooted in Macao.
