Wynn Hosts Sharing Session on the Spirit of "Two Sessions"

Macau, March 21, 2022The first session of the 14th National People's Congress (NPC) and the first session of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) (hereinafter referred to as the "Two Sessions") were recently held successfully in Beijing. In order to enable team members to better understand this year's events, Wynn hosted a sharing session on the spirit of the first session of the 14th NPC and the first session of the 14th CPPCC at Wynn Palace on March 20, 2023. Keynote speeches were delivered by Mr. Kou Hoi In, Deputy of the NPC Standing Committee and  President of the Legislative Assembly of Macao; Mr. Ho King Lun, Deputy of the NPC; Mr. Lee Chong Cheng, Member of the CPPCC National Committee and member of the Executive Council of Macao; and Mr. Lo Iek Long, Member of the CPPCC National Committee and Director of Health Bureau of Macao, who provide an overview and share the key highlights of this year's Two Sessions, enabling the team members to appreciate and understand the current situation in Mainland China and the latest trends in regional development. In addition, Wynn was also honored to invite the Coordination Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Macao Special Administrative Region Deputy Director-General Mr. Wang Jian Feng joining the event.

During the sharing session, the four keynote speakers presented an in-depth analysis on supporting the overall national development and shared insights on how Macao can seize the opportunities. Highlighting President Xi Jinping's pledge at the NPC closing meeting to "implement the policy of "One Country, Two Systems" and firmly advance the process of national reunification, promote the building of a strong country inseparable from the long-term prosperity and stability of Hong Kong and Macao," Mr. Kou Hoi In pointed out that central government always give its full support to Hong Kong and Macao, and cares for Macao's social welfare and economic development. Over the past two decades since Macao's return to China, the central government have launched a series of timely favorable policies and measures to support the city's long-term growth and stable development.

Mr. Ho King Lun said, renewable energy sector such as solar photovoltaic technology has been playing a more dominating role in economic development, after the central government announced its "dual carbon" goals. In the future, investing, developing and accelerating innovative technology could make green energies more affordable for the government, companies and residents. He called on the Macao government to create synergies and explore new business opportunities of high-end new energy manufacturing, green technology and finance across the Greater Bay Area.

Guangdong-Macao In-depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin is a key development fostered by the Central Committee, showcasing the implementation of "One Country, Two systems", said Mr. Lee Chong Cheng, noting that the integration has been well received among Macao residents who are actively involved in building Hengqin together with full confidence. Empowered by "One Country, Two Systems", this strategic integration is unprecedent. He firmly believed that Guangdong and Macao SAR governments, and all sectors in Macao will continue to closely collaborate in accelerating the Hengqin-Macao's integrated development, alongside blending Macao into the national development and contributing to the national reunification.

Mr. Lo Iek Long said, Macao SAR put Big Health at the forefront on four other signature businesses. Unprecedented opportunities have been created for Big Health and local medical services by building Macao Cotai Healthcare Complex and international medical tourism facilities, in addition to the traditional Chinese medicine business. Also, Guangdong-Macao In-depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin's blueprint has laid out clear development plan for new industries, including high-end technology, biotechnology and Chinese medicine with new cross-border policies that the Central Government provides support.  

Ms. Linda Chen, President and Vice Chairman of the Board of Wynn Macau, Limited, said, "since 2018, Wynn started to host 'Two Sessions' sharing session. Among all the other integrated resort developers in Macao, Wynn was the first to proactively organize this annual event as we hope to keep our team members well informed of the national development through this platform where conveys the spirit of the 'Two Sessions'. This year, with the appointments of new Central Government leaders and the full resumption of the cross-border travel, team members of Wynn's various departments must understand the national policy direction, give their full support to the administration of Macao SAR government and make continuous contribution to the city's role as the global tourism and leisure center."       

Wynn Senior management also actively participated in the sharing session on the spirit of the Two Session, leading the team members of various departments to organize and take part in the sharing session, showcasing the positive response of the whole company to the event. The sharing session provided on-site English simultaneous interpretation to convey the spirit of the Two Sessions for non-Chinese speakers. At the end of Q&A session, Wynn team members took the opportunity to ask the speakers further questions on the spirit of this year's Two Sessions, policy direction and their areas of concern, particularly the implementation of "One Country, Two systems"; how Macao better integrates into National development; ecological civilization and green development; the innovative opportunities arisen from the development of the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin; and the Central government's plan in healthcare development. Wynn also livestreamed the sharing session to the back-of-house areas, reinforcing the core value of being patriotic to the country and to Macao to more than 1,000 team members.

Every year, Wynn organizes sharing sessions on the theme of the Two Sessions to share China's development strategies with team members and deepen their understanding of the direction of national policy. These sharing sessions have received a consistently positive response from various departments at Wynn, including senior management, administrative staff, and frontline staff, reflecting Wynn's patriotic dedication to the country and Macao, as well as its care for the community as an international enterprise with deep roots in Macao.
