Wynn Macau Celebrates the Year of the Monkey with Dragon and Lion Dances as well as 800,000 Firecrackers

Macau, February 12, 2016 – Wynn Macau celebrated the arrival of the Year of the Monkey with a dragon and lion dance performance as well as the lighting of 800,000 firecrackers. The traditional ceremony carried blessings of prosperity and luck to Macau citizens and Wynn Macau's guests.

On the fifth day of the Lunar New Year, Mr. Ian Michael Coughlan, President of Wynn Macau, led the management team in officiating the dragon and lion eye-dotting ceremony for good luck. Following the ritual, there was a spectacular lion dance performance featuring pyrotechnics and Mr. Coughlan proceeded to light the 800,000 firecrackers, fueling the excitement of the crowd. Around 100 local lion dance performers continued to parade the hotel at the sound of drums and gongs, bestowing wishes of good fortune on the hotel and its guests in the Year of the Monkey.
