Wynn Macau's Business Matching Session in the 'Facilities Category' Completed Successfully

MACAU, July 11, 2016 – Another successful business matching session was held today at the Ballroom  of  Wynn  Macau.  The  '2016  Second  Quarter  Local  SME  Procurement  Partnership Program – Business Matching Session in Facilities Category' was once more organized by Wynn Resorts (Macau) S.A. together with the Macao Chamber of Commerce, with the conference being supported by the Secretariat for Economy and Finance, the Economic Bureau, the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM), the Macau Productivity and Technology Transfer Center (CPTTM) and the Business Incubation Center for Youth.

The  '2016  Second  Quarter Wynn  Local  SME  Procurement  Partnership  Program  –  Business Matching Session in Facilities Category' received an overwhelming response from SMEs, attracting nearly  90  local  merchants  to  register  to  join  the  event.  During  the  session,  heads  of  the Procurement  Department,  Facilities  Department  and  Contract  Services  Department  at  Wynn Macau introduced their basic operations, procurement procedures and requirements, among others, to all attending SMEs. Following this introduction, Wynn Macau met with the local companies for a follow-up discussion. The three major local banks, Bank of China (Macau Branch), Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (Macau) and Banco Nacional Ultramarino also attended the meeting to provide suitable business information for local SMEs as needed.

The other highlight of the day was the award presentation ceremony of the 'Procurement Platform Mobile App Design Competition'. The competition was co-hosted by Wynn Macau and the MCC, commissioned by the CPTTM and supported by the Business Incubation Center for Youth. The jury was composed of representatives of the aforementioned organizations as well as special representatives from the Economic Bureau, IPIM and the Macao Computer Society. The objective of this platform, created as a result of the competition, is to allow local SMEs to conveniently access opportunities presented by larger corporations, foster the growth of the local technology industry and encourage creativity among local youth enterprises. The platform will also be opened to the public free of charge, in a collaborative effort to promote mutually beneficial development.

Following the SAR Government's initiatives in supporting SMEs, both Wynn and the MCC placed special attention on cultivating three major types of local businesses: small and micro enterprises,'Made in Macao' companies, and Macau young entrepreneurs. Through this program, Wynn will provide procurement items in 36 categories, as well as organize quarterly Business Matching Sessions, with the aim of building mutually beneficial partnerships with local SMEs. Wynn believes that the development of local enterprises is key in promoting the diversification of Macau's economy. The opening of Wynn Palace in Cotai this year will not only bring another luxurious integrated resort to Macau, but will also bring more business opportunities for local enterprises, thus further developing the local supply chain.
