Move is part of efforts to support "Made in Macao" and local SMEs amid the pandemic

Macau, June 22, 2020 – Since the outbreak of the pandemic, Wynn has been actively supporting the Macau SAR in its anti-pandemic prevention work through donations of funds and related medical supplies, helping to ensure that affected communities can receive appropriate support. In a further move to promote the sustainable development of Macau's economy, Wynn has also taken the initiative to provide support to a local business that designs and produces eco-friendly sustainable masks, becoming Macau's first large-scale international integrated resort operator to procure and use reusable "Made in Macao" masks. The procurement in the first phase totaled several hundred thousand patacas, helping the business by alleviating the social and economic impact brought by the pandemic.

Lei Un Garment Factory, Ltd. (owned by Agencia Comercial Carmen Lda), a local cloth mask manufacturer approved by the Macao Economic Bureau, is itself responsible for the design and production of this "Made in Macao" sustainable mask. These masks are SGS certified and proven to be water repellent, antibacterial and skin-friendly as they are made from a combination of silver fibre antibacterial fabric and highly water repellent, super-soft shell fabric. They are washable and reusable up to 50 times, meaning that these masks can reduce and alleviate the environmental impact of using disposable surgical masks, as well as easing pressure on their availability amid supply shortages.

In addition, another initiative that reflects Wynn's care for the community is its distribution of 5,000 sets of reusable masks to 26 local social organizations, expressing its care and support to the frontline workers who have been keeping Macau safe. The WE Volunteer Team recently visited the UGAMM Building, Ka Ho Elderly Centre and Tung Sin Tong to give away the masks. Aside from providing instructions on how to correctly wear the mask, Wynn also discussed the joints effort made by these organizations in fighting the pandemic, providing a better understanding of how social services are gradually resuming normal operations.

All industries in Macau have been hit hard by the pandemic, but SMEs with limited resources have been borne the brunt. In view of this, Wynn will continue to give priority to local procurement and hopes to increase its cooperation with local SMEs, helping companies overcome the economic instability caused by the pandemic and combat the virus together.
