  • 20-FEB-2024

Macao, February 18, 2024In honor of the auspicious Year of the Dragon, Wynn has recently showcased an array of vibrant Chinese New Year celebrations inclusive of traditional lion dance performances, the lighting of firecrackers, and also participating in the annual Chinese New Year parade organized by the Macao Government Tourism Office. All of these colorful, time-honored celebrations are designed to spread good wishes to all Macao residents and visitors for a happy, healthy, and prosperous Year of the Dragon.

On February 17 (the eighth day of Chinese New Year) and February 18 (the ninth day of Chinese New Year), Wynn Macau and Wynn Palace hosted spectacular dragon and lion dance performances. Ms. Linda Chen, President, Vice Chairman and Executive Director of Wynn Macau, Limited officiated a dragon and lion eye-dotting ceremony with the Wynn management team to celebrate auspicious new beginnings and to convey well wishes for a new year that will be full of prosperity and great achievements.

Visitors followed the lion dance teams as they danced to the beat of drums and weaved their way through all major areas of Wynn Macau and Wynn Palace. While moving throughout the resorts, the lions also "plucked the greens" from the ceilings above – a symbolic way of spreading blessings of peace, prosperity, and good health. Local residents and visitors alike reveled in the excitement of the performances and admired the elegant Chinese New Year décor on display at both resorts.

On February 12 (the third day of Chinese New Year) and February 17 (the eighth day of Chinese New Year), Wynn once again participated in the "Parade for Celebration for the Year of the Dragon 2024" hosted by the Macao Government Tourism Office. This year, the design of the Wynn float featured the iconic Wynn SkyCab and a golden dragon to symbolize a dragon taking flight to bring good fortune to everyone at Chinese New Year. Performers from all walks of life also led a joyful celebration along Rua da Felicidade, extending their best wishes to everyone in Macao for the Year of the Dragon.
