Wynn Welcomes the Year of the Tiger with Auspicious Festivities
To usher in the Year of the Tiger with a roaring start, Wynn Macau and Wynn Palace Cotai hosted a series of Chinese New Year festivities inclusive of traditional dragon and lion dance performances and the lighting of firecrackers for Macau residents and visitors to enjoy. These colorful Wynn celebrations are designed to spread blessings to the entire community for a prosperous, harmonious and auspicious new year.
Throughout Chinese New Year, Wynn fully supports the "Parade for Celebration of the Year of the Tiger" organized by the Macau Government Tourism Office (MGTO). To welcome the arrival of the tiger year, Wynn Care Ambassadors "Wing Wing" and "Lei Lei" dressed up in traditional Chinese New Year costumes and paraded around on the colorful Wynn float with a lively pair of golden tigers. This year's parade float is covered in Wynn's iconic blossoming flowers, and accompanied by a high-powered performance of energetic basketball dance moves. Together, the blooming flowers and fast-paced moves symbolize a roaring start to Macau's economy in the new year and prosperity for all businesses throughout the year ahead. As a bright new spring begins, Wynn wishes everyone in the community a prosperous and wonderful new year.
On February 3 and 4, the third and fourth days of Chinese New Year, Ms. Linda Chen, Vice Chairman and Executive Director of Wynn Macau, Ltd. and Mr. Ian Michael Coughlan, President and Executive Director of Wynn Macau, Ltd. officiated a dragon and lion eye-dotting ceremony together with the Wynn management team. This ceremony, which awakens the dragon and lions, is held in celebration of auspicious beginnings and to convey well wishes for a new year that is full of prosperity and great achievements. At the ceremony, more than 100 lion dance performers danced to the beat of gongs and drums, and rows of firecrackers were lit up to ward off evil. The lively dragon and lions then weaved their way through major locations throughout Wynn Macau and Wynn Palace, where they performed stunts to collect lettuce (a symbol of wealth) and shared blessings of good fortune and luck with guests.
