Wynn Collaborates with Black Pearl Restaurant Guide as Official Venue Partner to Host the "Seeking Mountain and Sea to Rediscover the Flavors of China" Launch Event in Macau
Macau, April 11, 2023 — Wynn recently collaborated with the Black Pearl Restaurant Guide as official venue partner in Macau to host the first in a series of "Seeking Mountain and Sea to Rediscover the Flavours of China" events set to take place all across China in partnership with world-renowned cognac brand, Hennessy. The journey brings together China's best chefs from the "Black Pearl Chef Club". Two award-winning chefs of the Black Pearl Restaurant Guide – Executive Chef Tam Kwok Fung of Wing Lei Palace in Macau, recipient of the "2023 Black Pearl Restaurant Guide Chef of the Year" award as well as Chef Xu Jingye of 102 House Shanghai who received the "2023 Black Pearl Restaurant Guide Young Chef" honor – combined their creative culinary minds to host the launch event. On April 6 and 10, the chefs partnered to create two "Seeking Mountain and Sea to Rediscover the Flavours of China" four-hand collaborative gala dinners – one in Shanghai and another at Wynn Palace in Macau. A "Culinary Discussion Forum" was also held during the "Seeking Mountain and Sea to Rediscover the Flavours of China" event in Macau. This forum gave chefs and gourmands from local restaurants in Macau, the opportunity to network with celebrity chefs and culinary professionals, while also discovering the terroir of cognac, food memories and the remarkable harmony between Chinese cuisine and French cognac.
Inspired by "Seeking Mountain and Sea to Rediscover the Flavours of China", the two celebrity chefs – Tam Kwok Fung and Xu Jingye – designed a "Diamond Menu" where Cantonese cuisine showcased the original flavors of the ingredients, seasonal produce and local flavors of the mountains and seas. Their "Diamond Menu" dishes presented the best of local ingredients with an innovative twist, highlighting the finest skills in culinary artistry and creativity while introducing the profound depth of Chinese gastronomic culture. Perfectly paired with Hennessy X.O, guests embarked on a surprising and scintillating journey through the flavors of the mountains and seas to savor the original taste of seasonal ingredients and The Seven Worlds of Hennessy X.O.
Published by Meituan, the Black Pearl Restaurant Guide aims to create a comprehensive and authoritative list of outstanding restaurants for Chinese diners.
