Wynn Employee (WE) Volunteer Team Celebrates ‘International Volunteer Day’ with Social Service Organizations in Macau
Wynn Care – Volunteer Day brings people together to build a harmonious community
 
Macau, December 9, 2018 – Wynn organized the ‘Wynn Cares – Volunteer Day’ at Teatro Clementina Leitão Ho Brito on the United Nations (UN) International Volunteer Day on December 5, to recognize the volunteers who have contributed their unconditional support over the past year. Some of the outstanding volunteers shared with the audience their experiences and takeaways from volunteering, together with representatives of the elderly and student volunteers, in order to encourage more people to participate in voluntary work. During the event, mascots ‘Wing Wing’ and ‘Lei Lei’ were appointed ‘Wynn Caring’ ambassadors, who will inject friendship, harmony, kindness, and care into the community.
 
Wynn invited to attend the event Mr. Wu Feng, Senior Assistant Director of the Social Affairs Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Macao S.A.R., Ms. Bonnie Wu, Division Head of Problem Gambling Prevention and Treatment Division of the Social Welfare Bureau, and Mr. Fong Kun Meng, Acting Head of the Youth Centre of Bairro do Hipódromo, Education and Youth Affairs Bureau to witness the volunteers being presented with their certificates.
 
Wynn also invited more than 15 representatives from local community associations and social service organizations to attend. Some representatives shared moving stories and experiences of participating in social service. A few members of the social service organizations also presented wonderful African drumming and Portuguese folk dance performances to demonstrate their talents. At the event, Ms. Linda Chen, Vice Chairman and Executive Director of Wynn Macau, Limited delivered a speech to encourage the volunteers and presented certificates of appreciation to representatives from community partners, to show appreciation for offering their leisure time to give back to society, and actively participating in various community services and activities. She also encouraged everyone to uphold Wynn’s spirit of caring for people and things in everyday life with passion, hope and to enjoy living in a harmonious community.
Wynn has always been committed to giving back to the community and proactively encourages employees to participate in various volunteer activities. Over the past 11 months, WE volunteers actively organized over 90 activities and accumulated 6,000 voluntary service hours, demonstrating Wynn’s proactive collaboration with local social service organizations and helping people in need. Established in 2010, WE Volunteer Team has continued to grow for the eighth year, and now reaching over 1,200 volunteers. To continue the company’s commitment to fulfilling its corporate social responsibility, Wynn will continue to care for the underprivileged and give back to society, passing on love and care to all corners of the community, uniting forces from different sectors to build a harmonious community.
