Wynn Hosts "Me and My Motherland" National Education Seminar
to celebrate twin milestone anniversaries
Macau, September 27, 2019 – To celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and the 20th anniversary of the return of Macau to the motherland, as well as the patriotic spirit and love of China and Macau, Wynn hosted a national education seminar with the theme of "Me and My Motherland" at Wynn Palace at 3 pm on September 27. Prof. Pang Chuan, Vice President of Macau University of Science and Technology, Member of the Legislative Assembly of Macau, and Dr. Lao Chi Ngai, Director of the Strategy and Planning Office of the University of Macau, Member of the Legislative Assembly of Macau, were invited as keynote speakers. They shared the history of the country's rapid development and the evolution of Macau since its return, to an audience of over 600 Wynn team members from different departments and nationalities.
The seminar was also graced by Mr. Zuo Xianghua, Director of the Economic Affairs Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Macau SAR. Ms. Linda Chen, Vice Chairman and Executive Director of Wynn Macau, Limited led a group of management and team members to participate in the sharing session, in hopes of gaining a deeper understanding of the country's overall development and the competitive advantages of Macau following its return, and proactively embrace. They also aimed to accelerate the integration of future development opportunities brought by the country's Belt and Road Initiative and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area.
The two keynote speakers, both senior Macao scholars and members of the Legislative Assembly, discussed the progressive stories of the 70 years of the People's Republic of China during the seminar. They also had a heart-to-heart conversation with local youngsters, enabling members of the Wynn team to have a comprehensive and in-depth appreciation and understanding of the country's economic environment and development. Furthermore, the speakers shared details of their life, work and poverty alleviation experiences, which strengthened the Wynn team members' connections to the motherland. It also communicated the unique advantage and position enjoyed under 'One Country, Two Systems', thereby encouraging them to seize opportunities and join hands to achieve the great rejuvenation of the Chinese dream.
Since 2017, Wynn has organized a series of national education activities, receiving a positive response and high participation rate from all departments of the company. This seminar set a new record for the highest number of participants to date, and also incorporated artistic and cultural elements for the first time. Supervised by renowned Macau musician Joe Lei, six representatives of the final ten contestants of Wynn's talent show and Jose C. R., a local singer and event emcee, jointly led Wynn team members in a passionate performance of "Me and My Motherland" to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and the 20th anniversary of the return of Macau to the motherland.
