The First "Wynn Cup – Macau Primary School Student National Education Drawing Competition" Award Ceremony Reveals Winners

Over 10,000 Macau primary school students joined hands to paint their Chinese dream

Macau, May 17, 2017 – The first "Wynn Cup – Macau Primary School Student National Education Drawing Competition" award ceremony was held at Wynn Palace today, sponsored by Wynn and organized by the National Conditions Education Association (Macau). The program aims to strengthen the knowledge and understanding  of  national  education  among  primary  school students in Macau and nurture their national pride.

The award ceremony was held at 3pm today in the Grand Theater Ballroom of Wynn Palace. In the keynote speech, Ms. Linda Chen, President and Executive Director of Wynn Resorts (Macau) S.A., said that the first Macau Primary School Student National Education Drawing Competition under the theme of "My Chinese Dream" revealed a far-reaching impact. The program attracted active participation from over 20 schools and 10,000 Macau primary school students, achieving excellent results. As the title sponsor, Wynn is delighted to see how children are encouraged by their teachers  to  paint  their  artworks  and  unleash  their  imagination  and  creativity  to depict  their "Chinese dream", "Macau dream" and "child's dream". Chen added that young people are the hope and future of the country, resonating with comments by Zhang Dejiang, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress during his recent visit to Macau, saying that the city has to encourage local students to understand China's history and promote Chinese culture.

As the title sponsor of the Macau Primary School Student National Education Drawing Competition, Wynn hopes that the program can enhance Macau primary school students' knowledge of national conditions and promote exchanges in the fields of culture, art and education between mainland China and Macau, while earnestly carrying out its corporate social responsibility and making due contributions to Macau's prosperity and stability.

All award winning entries will appear in a roving exhibition to be displayed at participating schools. At today's ceremony, Macau students were given the opportunity to interact with teachers and students from mainland China in an exchange across culture and art, in the hopes of spreading Macau children's dreams to different corners of the country.

Following today's award ceremony, the second Macau Primary School Student National Education Drawing Competition will kick off, under the theme of "My Chinese Dream – Making Childhood Dreams Come True". The ultimate goal is to encourage children to step out of their comfort zone and visit mainland China for learning and exchange, in order to experience the national culture for themselves and appreciate the beauty of China through their own eyes, to achieve the educational aspiration of bringing together knowledge and action.

The "Wynn Cup – Macau Primary School Student National Education Drawing Competition" is open to all primary school students in Macau while the entries are categorized into two groups – junior primary (primary 1 to 3) and senior primary (primary 4 to 6). The criterion includes creativity, composition and use of color in the drawings. In the competition, children can combine their "personal dream" and their "Chinese dream" through drawings to depict their dreams and hopes, as well as the beauty of life. This competition can break the boundaries set by schools and classes and showcase the rich imagination, creativity, aesthetics and innovative thinking of the students, and in the meantime popularizing national education.
