Building a talent pool to bolster Macau's development as a world-class tourism and leisure destination

Macau, June 30, 2023 — The fifth edition of the annual Macao Integrated Tourism and Leisure Enterprises Vocational Skills Competition 2023, co-organized by the Labour Affairs Bureau and the Macao Federation of Trade Unions, took place successfully on June 29 and 30. Wynn continued to demonstrate its dedication to nurturing talent by forming a team to participate in the competition. This year, a total of 29 team members competed in all three categories — Gaming & Entertainment Vocational Skills Competition, Hotel Services Vocational Skills Competition, and Gastronomy Vocational Skills Competition. In addition to showcasing exceptional professional skills and unwavering team spirit, all the team members exchanged experiences and ideas with industry peers throughout the competition. Their outstanding performance helped Wynn secure eight awards. This success reinforces Wynn's contribution in developing a talent pool that will continue to support Macau's growth as a global tourism and leisure destination.

With the goals of unleashing the full potential of the talent and elevating the industry's standards, for the first time, the organizers incorporated floral elements into the room arrangement and themed design in Hotel Services Vocational Skills Competition. A new Chinese cuisine category was also added to Gastronomy Vocational Skills Competition. This year, Wynn's team excelled in the competition, receiving eight awards.

These include Runner-up (Individual) in Chip Handling, Second Runner-up (Group) in Calculation, Runner-up in Game Rules and Special Gold Award in Customer Services in the Gaming & Entertainment Vocational Skills Competition; Gold Awards (Group) in Housekeeping & Design and Special Gold Awards (Group) in Facilities Maintenance in the Hotel Services Vocational Skills Competition; and Gold Award (Group) in both F&B Services and Chinese Cuisine in the Gastronomy Vocational Skills Competition.
